Position |
The Position screens of the Vision Configuration program set the dimensions and position of each screen in the venue. There are four tabs which control up to four displays for the venue and each contains the same fields although the settings will differ for each. A list of display items is available and a trace window displays information regarding what each display is doing. There is also a timer that displays the current time and the number of seconds remaining for the current displayed item. Several buttons also control the behaviour of each screen manually.
Screen Top: Often set to 0, this denotes the position of the top of the screen.
Screen Left: Denotes the position of the left side of the screen. Display 1 will often be set to 0. Display 2 will be set according to the screen width of Display 1. Display 3 will be set according to the widths of the first two displays, and Display 4 will again be set according to the previous displays' widths.
Screen Height: Sets the height of the screen. This setting depends upon the screen resolution of the display. For a true widescreen display, this setting will often be set to 768.
Screen Width: Sets the width of the screen and has a bearing over the screen left settings for subsequent displays. This setting depends upon the screen resolution of the display. For a true widescreen display, this setting will often be set to 1280.
URL Control File: Sets the file that houses the list of URL's used by the terminal. By convention this is set to URLSA.txt for Display 1, URLSB.txt for Display 2, URLSC.txt for Display 3 and URLSD.txt for Display 4.
Enable Banner: Checked if banners are to be used in the display. Banners are messages that scroll across the bottom of the screen over the top of existing advertisements and this switch sets whether or not to allow them in the display.
Banner Height: Sets the height of each banner used in the display.
Display List: Lists the items that the display shows in order and the length of time each item is displayed.
Trace Window: Lists the activities of the display. This information is more general than that found in the Logs tab and basically just describes what action the display is taking at a given time.
Timer Bar: Displays the current time as well as counting down the number of seconds the current item is to be displayed for.
Start: Press this button to start the Vision display at the terminal.
Stop: Press this button to pause the Vision display at the terminal. The display will go blank but the connection between the Portal and the terminal is not actually closed.
Close: Press this button to close the connection between the Portal and the terminal.
Flush: Press this button to flush the input stream at the terminal. This causes the sequence of items to be displayed to restart.
Load: Press this button to reload the list of items to be displayed at the terminal from the Portal. This is necessary when the list has changed in the Portal and the display needs to get the new information.
Skip: Press this button to skip an item in the sequence of displayed items. This manual override skips the item once - it will be displayed again in the next iteration of the sequence.
