IP Cameras

The Portal provides a way in which you can utilise Internet Protocol Cameras to monitor a Site's terminals. In this topic we will discuss the viewing of security footage from an IP Camera from the Portal. Note that the use of IP Cameras requires some setup in the POS, as well as having port forwarding enabled in the Firewall or Router for the Site.

We will start by discussing the Site IP Address report. This screen is accessible by selecting the IP Addresses link from the Sites section of the Site Menu. Use the Menus link followed by the Site link to navigate to the Site Menu, then select Sites and IP Addresses to open the Site IP Address report.

The Site IP Address Report displays the last known IP Address details for each Site in the Company. The report is filtered by State and displays each Site's Name, Site ID Code, Company Name, Site Type, VNC Password, Last Known IP Address, Time of the Last IP Address Received, Contact Phone Number and Contact Person. Note that only users with access to multiple Companies will see details of Sites for more than one Company.

Several drill-down options are available from this report. Click on a Site Name to open the Site Maintenance screen. Users with multi-Company access can also click on a Company Name to switch their login to the selected Company and open the Switch Companies screen. The Switch Companies screen can also be accessed by selecting the Switch Company link from the Support section of the Site Menu.

The Switch Companies screen allows you to change the Company that you are currently logged into. This has the same effect as logging out of the Portal and logging back in with a different Company ID. Switching Companies is sometimes a necessary step for multi-Company users in order to access Company-specific or Site-specific data. To switch Companies, select the Company that you wish to change to and press the Switch button. Note that the current Company is displayed in the title bar of this screen and by selecting a Company Name in the Site IP Address Report the Company will automatically be switched.

The third drill-down option available in the Site IP Address Report is accessed by selecting the Last IP Address column for a Site. This opens a popup menu with the following options:

• Start Java VNC Remote Support, used by Zen Global staff to dial into the Site remotely in order to diagnose problems that may be occurring during trade. This option is generally for internal use only and should not need to be accessed by clients of Zen Global.

• Start Remote Video, opens the Camera Details screen which lists the current settings for the known Internet Protocol cameras. This screen lists the Camera Name, Control Terminal (which relates to the Terminal ID for the POS), the External IP Address, the Internal IP Address, the Camera ID and whether it is Enabled in the POS for each camera.

Click on a Camera Name to open a live streamed view of the camera footage.
